Chickens in my garage
The chickens are much more entertaining than I expected. If I wasn't already an overbooked working momma with a hyper-inflated sense of what should get done in a 24-hour period, I would spend a fair amount of time with my chickens. They aren't all that bright, but what they lack in intelligence they make up for in novelty.
I will provide pictures, but in lieu of that I will simply say that we now have a cast of 11 in our daily chicken drama. The four Cuckoo Marans (Gigi, Veronique, Gaston & Ramage) are settling in nicely, and now look like giants next to Biddy (name subject to change) and her brood of six. I'm afraid a fair number of the brood of six are roos, so I will not be naming them for a bit. The brood is approximately 8 weeks old. They are fully feathered out, and cute as proverbial buttons. Or cuter.
For more information on the Marans, check out http://www.maransclub.com/.
In other creature news, Sabine is due to return from her breeding trip to Canada any day now. Hopefully, our little girl will be in the family way.
P.S. Oh joy! Miles has 2 new teeth. And an attitude, but that's another story.
