Down On My Knees

This election has really brought out my latent Christian side. I can’t even specify protestant, as I’ve had the inexplicable urge to say a Novena for the Kerry/Edwards campaign. Where did that come from? I don’t know the first thing about Novenas, except I have the sneaking suspicion I need more days than are left before Election Day. The Our Father will just have to do.

Instead, I’ve been lurking around the internet, trying to find solace in progressive Christian blogs, such as this and this. Oh, and this, as well. I’ve also been praying, but I’ve found my strictly protestant upbringing didn’t provide me with enough satisfying ritual. Perhaps it would help if I actually went to church (oh, god!).

I’m nervous, freaked out, and very concerned about this presidential election. Join me. Kneeling helps.
