Mea Culpa, I have not blogged.
I was away on vacation, and while I meant to blog copiously from the piny woods of Maine, I didn't.
Instead, I read, swam, chased a walking baby and held a smiling one, and ate far to much. All while visiting family and catching up. It was a lovely time away, and I wish it had lasted longer.
Returning always means the drudgery of catching up on phone calls and emails, fixing dinner in a house with very little food, and surviving the emotional turmoil of a five-year-old who really, really misses his Grammy.
On the bright side, I finished Cider with Rosie for the 1% Well-Read Challenge, and I had plenty of time to listen to a few new podcasts.
The picture at the top of this post is a fungus I came across at my in-laws house. I have no idea what it is, but it's been a wet summer in Maine, and mushrooms abound. Any ideas? I can think up all sorts of morbid and dramatic names; it really looked like a flower from the underworld, something that would spring up in Euydice's footsteps as she followed Orpheus.

That's some fungus! No idea what it is, but I like it.
Thanks! I've been stymied on how to try and google it. Weird pink flower fungus? Stalky transparent mushroom with blush tinge?
Wonder what I would get with either of those searches?
