If you have a few minutes to kill, a fast internet connection, and an interest in history and the visual arts, check out the National Archives Experience Digital Vaults. Fascinating! You can create your own collection, and from that make posters and slide shows. They have a dizzying array of WWI and WWII propaganda posters, and some of the Pennsylvania Dutch documents/folk-art called frakturs could be excellent sources for some textile designs. There are some striking images here, and why had I never heard of the EPA's Project Documerica?
